Hi, I've just bought titan x (maxwell) and wanted to run it with my old 980, but octane sees only 980's 4 gb ram O_O cool surprise!))) I have octane plugin for 3ds max v1.55b. Is there any way to fix this issue? Is this issue fixed in newer versions of octane? Thanks!

To use the 12Gb VRAM of the Titan, you will have to disable the 980. Otherwise you will have the lowest VRAM of cards installed available to you. This shouldn't be an issue unless you go over 4Gb, so you can use both cards until you reach that limit or alternatively you can use Out of Core Textures.

Bear in mind that if you are using the Titan as your display card, you also won't have the full 12Gb either, as windows will reserve some of the VRAM, I think roughly 2Gb in win10 from what i have seen.

Thanks for reply! But still it's ridiculous) Why does octane take memory of the card with least memory? Maybe there is some script fixing this?

I don't really see another way unfortunately... it is how GPU rendering works. Scenes need to fit on both of your cards, so say you have a scene bigger than what your 4Gb card can handle, what then? It just won't work. It sucks but it is part of the gpu limitation. Use your cards at 4Gb until you cannot fit a scene onto it anymore, then disable Octane using the 980 on bigger projects. (Also try out-of-core Textures when 4gb limit is reached)

It would be ridiculous if you actually could fit 12GB on a 4GB card :)
You can use the system RAM with Out Of Core rendering but it's only for the textures and a bit slower.
