So I constantly crash when I'm using the Live Viewer, it's become a normal occurrence that I've grown to live with using Octane with C4D.
Auto Save & Save often is how we work here. Is this normal for everyone or should I be figuring out what's going wrong?
We run (2) Octane workstation (see signature for workstations) and both have similar issue when running with the Live Viewer active...
When something is moved at the wrong time or a texture is altered at the wrong moment it'll freeze up.
There is no "one" thing that happens to cause this but happens more often when using the Win10 Network Slave. It doesn't happen as often when using just the local GPU, but still an occurrence.

Is this something that others live with and I'm not an outlier?
...or something I should look into fixing and working the developers with?

Thanks for any insight.

Of course not. There is thousands users who are using fine as i can see. Here you should define what's crashes? C4D crashes or cuda errors? Have you removed unused plugin files? Can you try with "sych. Geo. Updates=ON"?

It's not even a true "crash" I get the spinning wheel of death and "No Response" from the Force Quit Dialog....
Although I'm trying to create a video of it crashing and I can't get it to do it (typical).

Here you should define what's crashes?
Spinning Wheel of Death & No Responce.
C4D crashes or cuda errors?
How do I determine this?
Have you removed unused plugin files?
Yes.
Can you try with "sych. Geo. Updates=ON"?
Currently active.

I also attached setting screenshots in the earlier post.

Ok i see settings now. Mostly fine, only suspection was on the parameter which i said on my post. Btw selecting the priority is a must for more fluent worklow. Especially for one gpu system. Btw i advice to deselect "minimize net traffic". If you can post something to define your crashes we can help.
Note: On C4D crashes you'll see a crash window. On cuda errors, you'll mostly get render failures.

I turned off "Minimize Net Traffic",
Render Priority is now HIGH,
Sync Geo is still CHECKED.

I'll do my best to document future "crashes", thanks for the quick response.

render priority=LOW and ENABLED on gpu. This is best for interactivity. Not about crashes but can cause long delays and you may think that's hanging.

Should the priority still be "low" if I am using the internal AMD gpus for my displays and the NVIDIA is only for octane?

No i think. If it's not giving lags while working.
