Hi,

Just to let you know what our short term plan is, here's the rough lines:

1- Working on stabilizing pre-23: we do believe that most of you have the same issues (that unfortunately didn't happen on our machines) and that it should be 'fairely easy' to fix. From all your reports, we see two possible main causes. We'll do our best to investigate as soon as possible.

2- Release a stabler Windows version 'somewhere next week'. Depending on how though it is to find the source of the crashes. Note that this version won't fix all the issues you guys have found. In a first instance, we're going towards everyone being able to run octane, test their scenes and work with OctaneLive.

3- Once we got there, we'll work on implementing the mac and linux versions.

4- Fix bug, add features, continue towards 2.3

Cheers

Which means that I will not being able to run Octane pre 2.3 for a while..as my copy does not even start..and I also tried to run the 32 bit on my XP partition but still the same error, so it has to do with my machine? why is that prev version is fully working I wonder..disappointing

Could it have something to do with the current version being pre-beta? No that's not it, that wouldn't explain bugs. -__-
Just sit tight, continue to use 2.2, and be patient, please.

@Nostromo, gl on getting it all sorted out. :)

Now it goes "could not connect to server" so I guess Nostromo or Radiance are in the back fixing something? (20 min now)

Thanks Refractive guys,
Take your time so we get something working reasonably well - no earlier than next Weds 25th I think is fine 8-)
Also we dont want you young fellows to end up looking like the man in the Luxology video

BTW You could put a notice in the pre2.3 download area advising people who dont have Win7-64 to hold off until the follow up release. No point in having more people unnecessarily frustrated by the worst issues. :)

Keep up the good work :geek:
