I have no problem with textures 3dmax when converting complex scenes can be up to 5 minutes to hang converting hundreds ... but after some time it again works .... I don't like it sometimes really need to wait for conversion of the entire scene ....

this error occurs when there ITOO FORESt when a lot of vegetation and textures are not supported in Octane render - I push the button to convert === and wait for quite a long time and really feels 3dmax dead but it just works and converts materials

Dude ??? what are you talking about. It has nothing to do with textures. The error is ONLY specific to TEXTURE ENVIRONMENT channel. That only. It has nothing to do with the Convert textures command.
And as for being lazy, I am busy with production workflow. I do not have time to stop working, UNINSTALL a good stable version I am using 10 hours a day, re-install a bad version, and wait for it to crash my entire scene.

wow really unhappy about this. My error with the TEXTURE ENVIRONMENT is still here in this version. I am so done. I cannot seem to move past version 4.09. I am totally stuck

Here is a link to my crash video. Sorry it was captured to a FLV file. But it shows that ANY attempt to open or change a TEXTURE ENVIRONMENT slot crashes the entire 3dsmax session. This has been going on since version 4.09 and nobody can tell me why. This happens on 3 separate systems. It is not computer specific. This was recorded on a windows 10 machine, on a LENOVO D30 workstation. 3dsmax 2017, Octane version 3.05.03 - 4.29. Graphics card is a Geforce 1080GTX

Interesting to note that this error only occurs when using the mtl editor in STANDARD mode, not in the SLATE mode. If I switch to SLATE mode, which I don't use, everything seems to work fine.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to get us the video. I use GeForce experience built in capture to do my video grabs, and it saves directly to MP4 files. It works well with Octane in my testing so far, and uses NVENC so no slowdown on GPU or CPU either. Should be super fast on Pascal.richardyarlett wrote:Here is a link to my crash video.
