I was thinking of getting a couple of these (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Wat ... s=gtx+1080).
Anyone try anything like this? Not sure how good they are compared to a full water cooling setup (or even compared to a normal air setup). Never done a full water setup but it seems like it can get a little pricey and these are a good price as is and don't have any fuss.
I guess a downside is you can't really put more than 2 easily (having only the space for 2 of the fans on the top of your case, at least mine) and they are still double width.
anyone try a card that has built in water cooler?
hi there
I got Hybrid cooler equipped cards from EVGA a while ago (in particular TitanX). Compared to full watercooling loop, those come cheaper =) I mean, regular card would cost certain amount & for 100$ extra You can only get waterblock, but no rad, pump or fans.. while this includes everything, so from value perspective those are great =) up to four cards, with simplified maintenance in mind, this route is really attractive. Only downside I guess is that You should have a bit bigger case, but not too big to fit all those 120 rads =) I had a print screen somewhere.. (I'll post if I find).
one thing to check before You, if You would grab one not from EVGA, would be to check it it would not fall into batch of those effected by thermal problems EVGA had a while ago (not sure it is exposed to the same issue, but it would be worth to double check, just in case)

Another thing I didnt think about is power consumption. Should I assume more power consumption when picking my power supply, or is the power comparable to just a normal fan setup?
Intel quad core i5 @ 4.0 ghz | 8 gigs of Ram | Geforce GTX 470 - 1.25 gigs of Ram
ou, I didn't even noticed that =) honestly if there would be any difference that's in a range of few watts or so..unless You like overclock & over-volt GPU manually, but then again we are talking about what.. 10-20W if You're really aggressive. So I would not worry about that.kavorka wrote:Another thing I didnt think about is power consumption. I have x4 980ti Hybrid cards and they are amazing. At full force they are super quiet and never go over 40 degrees. I have three in one computerus and. probably have an overkill power supply. I'm running a platinum 1200 watt I believe.
