Octane not launching AGAIN

Right in the middle of a deadline, I had to restart my mac, and now when I launch c4d r17, it gets stuck launching Octane. I have trashed c4d and Octane prefs. The Octane log-in screen pops up but when I put in my username and password nothing happens.

Please help - I am getting sick of this happening.

I haven't changed ANY router settings, last time the problem was the firewall. This is switched off.

sorry but your issue is not clear, what kind of error message you have?
Have you tried to start Standalone?
Did you make any software update?
Please share some screenshots in order to better understand what is going on.

I had the same problem several weeks ago:

That took ten days to sort out. My router's firewall was on.

There is no error message. c4d hangs during initialising plug-ins.

If I trash the c4d prefs and Octane prefs, c4d finishes initialising the plug-ins, and the Octane log-in window appears. When I enter my details, nothing happens.

ok it's working again, I downloaded the latest version and reinstalled, all seems ok

As it seems it wasn't the same problem, could you please provide some more information about why you had to restart? Was it due to a software or OS update?

Sent you a PM - Octane can't connect to server. Definitely an Octane problem, as c4d can connect to updates.

Just tried my old router and alternative internet connection, and Octane is working again, so something's not right with my 4g router. Ah well at least I can work again...

Good to know the problem got solve after changing your router.

If this happens again, please follow the instructions from my latest PM so we can find out what's exactly causing the issue with that router.
