Hi,

Just wondering if you have plans for an OSX version of the plugin now that 3.0 is around the corner. I've Octane on my bootcamp partition, but I'd rather be using it on my OSX partition. It's a pain switching back and forth so I tend to just stay in OSX and use iRay.

I personally will only upgrade to version 3 if it's ported to OSX.

Thanks and keep me posted.

Hi Nick. I started porting the plugin to OSX, but it quickly became obvious that due to the amount of Windows-specific function calls in the plugin, it was going to be a really big job. So at this point I have put it on hold, and I will reassess in a few months time.

Thanks for the response Paul, not what I wanted to hear.

But all things aside, It's probably not worth your time to port it over if it's more than a few hours work.

Well, good thing I haven't made the switch to Studio then. At least I can still use the software I paid for.

I know we're a small segment of your user base, but we already go through enough crap getting Octane to run at all on Macs.

I'm not a Mac user but wondered if it was possible to export a scene without the plugin to the standalone? When v3 couldn't render animation for a few builds I tried this in Win10. Even though I didn't explore it in detail the standalone does a pretty good job with scenes exported via the plugin. Once I got to grips with how it worked I got some good results. If there was a not too convoluted way to export the scene into the standalone then that might be a work around until there's a mac version?

Hi Paul - are there any news or hope to get a Daz Mac OSX version soon?

I hate to export it every time to cinema 4d - to render the People there with octane.

Cheers

No news - sorry Carsten. At this stage I think it is unlikely there will be an OSX version of the plugin.
