Render Proxy support

I have made a long and detailed feature resquest, in the user request section,
but as the subsections of the Maya forum are rarely visited, I advertise it here:

I believe this one feature could be a simple way to solve at once many other requested features for the Maya plugin.

What guys do you think about it ?
