I've tried to search on this and the results have been conflicting to say the least. Some threads say the cards won't work while others say the cards do work except not at their best potential I guess due to CUDA version 8. So my question is can we use the 1080 cards now, even if they aren't fully optimized for Octane yet? I have been holding out on upgrading from my 3x 780Ti's but one of my cards is on its way to die and I'd like to go ahead and get some hardware in. Thanks in advance to anyone that can clear up the confusion for me.

Even if the 1080's will work and aren't fully optimized, I should still see a pretty good bump in render performance times with the new cards vs my 780Ti's correct?

I'd love to know the official position on this too - we have 10x 980ti in our farm and are looking to expand it (half our machines are now set up for octane),
Now the 980ti are end-of-life there seems to be a lot of uncertainty over what exactly to replace them with, especially as octanebench seems to suggest you don't get much more performance from Titans, and for the price we could add several more 1080s?

Hi PHM,
OctaneRender can work with Pascal GPUs since v3.03.2 with a mix of CUDA 7.5/8.
Look at this messagge for the latest news about this argument:

Looks like updates to Pascal support and 1080ti should be realeased around the same time. I think we'll hold out till then...
