My original question was moved Smithmicro Poser section and since I don't have a license I can't reply there. See viewtopic.php?f=45&t=58291 (Didn't realize the demo Poser plugin didn't need the standalone OctaneRender demo)

The demo Poser plugin 2.16 is not compatible with my new GTX 1060 video card. Is there a new demo Poser plugin based from the OctaneRender 3?

Sorry for the late reply, uninstalled the previous Poser plugin demo and installed the latest one provide but I'm getting an error when starting my copy of Poser.

"Could not start Octane. Refer to the log file in your Poser Temp directory for details."

It looks like the plugin started correctly. Can you start the plugin via the Render->OctaneRender menu command?

I don't have the OctaneRender option listed in the menu command.

The OctaneRender option does NOT appear in my Poser menu.

Hey,

The standalone Octane does work for me. I can render the sample scenes like the chess set.

Sorry for the problems you are having. I have never seen the Octane library load (as shown in the log file), but not give the "Could not start" error. I have added some additional diagnostics to the plugin - so could you pls try the version below - if there is a problem starting the plugin, a dialog will be displayed giving the exact reason.

I installed the latest build of the Poser plugin and still got an error message popping up while Poser was launching.

Error:

"Could not start Octane. Could not load tbb.dll from 'C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2014\Runtime\Python\addons\OctaneRender for Poser\3-64 Demo"


I navigated to the 3-64 Demo directory and there was no tbb.dll file. Only files in the directory are Octane.dat, Octane.dll and PoserOctane64_Demo.dll.
