I can load a mesh but performing any function after results in a crash.

When people say it crash at startup, could you please specify whether it's at the application start up or the first time you click a node that starts a render. We know there are issues with rendering startup (and amongst other GTX470 seem to emerge as a comon ground) but I'd like to know if there's issue for some people to get even the user interface to show up.

It crash as startup of the program, it does not even load the interface, I click on the icon, It does nothing for 2 seconds and crash with the error below

Thanks. We do think it's related to corrupted preferences, we'll look at it.

Same thing happened to me as well, but it was working great till that... yesterday and today - all day (except knowing bugs)
I was able to render, create materials, switch resolution, in fact I rendered quite a lot of scenes with success. even I have saved my renders.. (PNG)
I was opened another scene and it crashed, after that I'm no longer able to run it..
Crash error is the same as justix posted above..
Beta 2.2b still works....

I did try several reboots, I downloaded the archive again, reinstall my driver I was used, I try to swipe it and install the latest available on Nvidia page, turn OFF/ON physx but still I can't even start the beta 2.3.
It just stop launching..

Same here (I think I already posted it somewhere else) as Andrian, working fine till I had to terminate it, and then it hasn't worked since, deleted the cfg file, reactivated and nothing changed, installed latest drivers 258.96 (I had 258.69) but the damm windows won't let it start. I've got the dump file if anyone is interested.

Preferences are stored on your server... I though this New system was just to check from time to time if Octane is connected or not (I don't get this new anti-piracy system, I'm working on something , maybe about to launch the final render and if I get problem with my broadband is no go?) but I hope that has got nothing to do with the huge release problems here reported as mine that so far not being able to even try the new release..
