Attached 3 scenes with metric units of measurement, centered on the axis origins and displayed in the following formats:
1 metric millimeters
2 metric centimeters
3 metric meters

Hi, Paride,

could You explain the purpose of this? (I might not get something here)

as far as I know we should use mm as system units, but we can choose anything to display.
What's the point of having three scenes? (I clearly missing something here =)

Thanks in advance,

Sinc.

meter size - impossible to work in polygonal modeling of the mouse ... it remains an option only to score-sized keyboard

...............
therefore, use only the meter unity is impossible in most projects..

octane works correctly only in meters, it is wrong and does not correctly, it is the most correct unit Millimeter

Hi Paride,
I personally have no problem understanding your explanation here.
But.. In order to elevate this problem.
Would you mind setting the dimensions of the box object you've prepared to a 13cm cube..
Where as in metric millimeters scene to 130mmx130mmx130mm
Where as in metric centimeters scene to 13cmx13cmx13cm
Where as in metric meters scene to 0.13mx0.13mx0.13m

In either case hopefully you'll see that 3dsmax struggles to display a 13 cm or any 5cm object due to a camera/perspective cliping.
Which can be easily overcome by manually adjusting perspective views' viewport clipping handles.
But this is not a comfortable way of working. But also problematic in terms of native 3dsmax features.

In fact I think that max has been written in US and considered to have inches as system unit.
In terms of 3dsmax native features such as cloth sims, to get a better simulation output you have to determine the scale value of cloth to be 2.54cm.
System heavily depends on and works perfectly with these small unit scales not meters. If you happen to work in a true scale building scene. You end up pulling your hair when you deal with fine small details. So, I as a long time max user I stick with cm. as I do mostly product viz. And system unit on meter not working for me.
I just wanted to point out the issue here. Not waving any complaints or request for solving this issue.

Working in metric meters as system unit will let users to get the most from octane render. But they can suffer from some workflow problems such as the viewport clipping issue.
Thanks

Nobody is stupid Goldisart,
Could you kindly try to make that (in the video), by opening the attached file?

.... I opened your scene == problems remain

visualization can be correct but to work in such coordinate systems is impossible and there is more to do edits
