Hi,
Is there a material available that can generate outlines similar to 3ds max / Mental Ray in Octane for Rhino / general? I currently use a workflow using one of rhinos view port displays that ive scripted to save out as the right aspect. New to Octane and keen to find out if there is something a little better available.
Thanks.
Will.

+1.......I would be very interested in a toon shader or how it was demonstrated in this video link. I really need this for my production.

Can you explain more about what you mean by "outlines" pls? Have you tried the Object Id and Material Id passes? Is there a material available that can generate outlines similar to 3ds max / Mental Ray in Octane for Rhino / general? That feature is not currently available in Octane - perhaps it in will in a future release?+1.......I would be very interested in a toon shader or how it was demonstrated in this video link. I really need this for my production.

Hi Paul,
Regards the Technical render, the sample image is kind of what im after. I went though the ID passes but nothing that delivers this. I have a simple script that saves out a rhino screen grab at HD and some other common res's. Generally i take this black and white and comp it over in Photoshop. I can still do this, but it would be nice if there was a way to enable it in Octane, if possible. I also do this all in the renderer under Neon for Rhino, but that's being phased out soon. There will be other ways but its worth asking.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Sorry mean to say thanks for the reply. The effect looks interesting though it doesn't on the face of it have the 'graphic' hard outline im after.
For now i can work with comping in a modified view-port style as a simple overlay to the rendered image is probably the quick route right now.
Big thanks for tips though, i like this effect!
