Hi guys I'm running into this mdd problem. I baked a mdd and when I load it and apply to the same mesh Octane just behaves sort of weird.
It's flipping the mesh and also positioning it in the wrong place.
The plane on the left I'm distorting using deformators, and would like to use mdd on other meshes to speed up the process.

Anyone have any similar problem? Am I missing something?
Thanks

Hi,

Weird issue. Do you have clones of this object in the scene? Remember to disable the "Instance LW clones" option in the render target if you are deforming an object that has several clones in the scene.

If this is not the problem, please send the scene to me to test it here.

Thanks,

Thanks Juanjo, I had multiple copies of the same object - imported multiple times, didn't know that Octane also considered it as Clones.

I turn off the "Instance LW Clones" and it worked.

Thanks.

Yes, the problem is that with the "Instance LW clones" option enabled, all the clones are extracted as Octane instances, and the instances must share all the same base shape, including the same deformation. This option is really useful while working with large scenes, but if there are cloned objects with deformations, it must be disabled to avoid this problem.

Thanks,
