FYI this problem don't exist with 3dsmax 2016 & octane 2.23 ( on the same workstation)
About the 3dsmax service pack, the installation seems weird. The installation was very long and nothing is mentionned in the product information. Maybe have I a problem with this.
:'(

Hi pump_studio,
you're saying that Octane 3dsmax 2016 & octane 2.23 works well, but in 2K or 4K resolution?

4K resolution
That sounds a bit strange, but in max 2016, all the menu are so little. and in max 2017 , the menu are " normal"...

Hi pump_studio,
yes, this is correct. 3ds max2016 UI does not support 4K monitor.
You might try deleting the 3dsmax.ini
Close 3ds Max 2017; copy You 3dsMax.ini to another folder, and delete it from the 3dsMax folder.
Restart 3dsMax.
