Maybe a driver dependant issue. This doesn't happen to me for example. I never do auto updates for drivers and stuck to 372.54 with WIN7. It's mostly fine to me.Raoul wrote:I also had this problem. Big relief to hear it wasn't just me.. Could it be an overall Cinema problem? I pretty much use Octane in every scene I'm working on so hard to to determine and hard to seperate a c4d issue from Octane..
I thought i was loosing my mind and forgetting to save files before closing!
suddenly closing file

getting worse, I think - very hard to work at the moment.
edit: ok, this was probably just a rant before, because half an hour of tiresome work was gone (even with autosave).
anyway - normally it occures, if I render a file, switch to another file to work with and when the render or testrender is finished, the file from the render is closed - I hate this feeling.
driver is 368.xx, so I don't know.

Just wanted to say I've had this same issue too. R16, Octane 3.03, OSX 10.10.5
I can't say exactly why or when it happens, but it's usually when I have more than one scene open, and start rendering one (to picture viewer) with octane. Then I switch to another scene, and later the original scene is just gone, closed, and not saved. Without warning. Very strange.

Why don't you report it to Maxon? They can say if we do something wrong or is it about them.agnes_io wrote:Just wanted to say I've had this same issue too. R16, Octane 3.03, OSX 10.10.5

I have exactly the same problem, very annoying.
Newest R18 version and newest Octane stable.
Is there any news about this? Biggest Problem is, that the scenes are not saving!

Same here,
when working on a different project, than the one being rendered the file is closed in the background without any warning.
It seems that it only happens when the octane live viewer was opened before and fed with the same scene data. When the c4d image viewer starts to render, the live viewer window becomes deactivated.
When switching to another project and the rendering in the image viewer is complete, the rendered project file in the background closes (or crashes?). Maybe because live viewer tries to get its focus back?
I couldn't find this kind of problem in other C4D related forums.
Any ideas/solutions?
