Hello!
Does the above mean that if I created an Alpha channel in C4D for a material (that didn't by default have one), it will not render in Octane plugin?
I am seeing alpha "maps" (images applied as a texture in Alpha channel meant to mask out a white/black non-png background) recognized correctly in C4D's workspace viewports and C4D's default renderer itself, but not in Octane (see the scalp/hairline in the below image)

No!
Don't use c4d materials and bitmaps for my pleasure pls. Octane materials+imagetexture are your friends. Otherwise this kinds questions come out. Thx!

Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I created Octane materials and replaced the 'problem' C4D ones with the Octane ones.
I was able to use the Octane Opacity channel to apply the mask-maps, instead of using the Alpha channel in C4D.
There's an old saying... "Good things come to those who screw around with Octane's opacity channel when C4D's Alpha channel won't convert properly..."

I'm getting crash on this scene. Not sure what's happening. As soon as I go to render to the picture viewer, it thinks about it for a second, then crashes. Please help! Thanks! Attached bug report and scene file.
Hi there, I recently updated to R18 and i'm having problems with my viewport. When I open my c4d file textures seem to show up but when I turn on LV all my textures in my viewport disappears. It reverts back to the base c4d look. LV works fine and shows all my textures. Not sure what's causing this. I also downloaded this latest release and reinstalled it but same thing. Thanks for your help!

It's most likely about this option. I've explained that's a bug with co-operation with C4D SDK problem on custom materials with ALPHA support. Just disable if you don't need alpha in viewport.
