Hey folks!

I am working on a scene here just trying out some new styles and testing my new laptop with a GTX 1070 out. I noticed that I have materials that are exporting because they are applied to objects in the scene even though these objects are disabled and hidden.

Is there a global setting I can set to disable material exports for objects that are hidden or disabled?

Would be very helpful! I am loading 2 8k maps from World Machine that are each 16bit and it slows the load time substantially. In the mean time I'll just remove the tag until I need to render said object again.

Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in this as well !

You can't imagine what happens when you have several 20K 16bit TIF and EXR textures in your scenes plus some of your materials are animated.
I had to disable: 'material previews' and 'opengl previews' in LV, 'Alpha for Opengl previews' and 'Use Octane for Opengl previews' in Settings. I also disabled Textures in the viewport options.

All of those help but, sadly, materials are still loaded on render for objects that are hidden. I had to create separate scenes in order to work on different parts of the project.

Oh, another trick was to use material exchanger to switch to lowres versions...
Too many workarounds..

( I'm on 3.04.3 btw. )
