I know Octane is a long way away from the software used in the below link, but I think this is a good goal to work towards. Any thoughts?

Btw, does anyone have a clue of what software (or similar) was used to create this? I think Circus3D is a gaming company so I'm not sure.
Future of Octane, Maybe...

I know you are pretty busy atm, but how exactly a game engine (ogre is a game engine, right?) could show faulty construction? just professional curiosity.
I mean how did the archs use it, not how you did it (that's so above me anyways that's magic
).

it's easy to demonstrate to a crowd in a legal hearing with a projector and 3d model how the building rotted from leaks, and how it affects other parts of the area with various texture maps indicating moisture samples.kubo wrote:I know you are pretty busy atm, but how exactly a game engine (ogre is a game engine, right?) could show faulty construction? just professional curiosity.

That sounds really cool, dunno how much they get paid for legal advice, but here I couldn't pull it off for sure, or may be I just don't have the right clients, lol
Just the same, it's a good use of technology.

That's a great idea to aim to, real time 3d model explorer/renderer, like something that deep exploration software.. only for .obj, think of the engineers architects who want to show their work interactively.. maybe even do like a projector.exe like what flash does and make a object integrate into octane so you can run it from a usb stick, and show it to a investor or something so people would be falling off their asses when they see the magic..
like octane demo so you can't save anything just show work around, say .ocs file with textures and light already set.. since this program you showed us is really nice, but realy nothing much to look at.. we want some realistic (or closer to it) looking 3d software
People like fancy pictures, I know I do, if you make it look nice (well if you have to sell it) people tend to think your project is good if they see inspiring pictures

This is why I thought Octane would be suited for this type of thing.acc24ex wrote:like octane demo so you can't save anything just show work around, say .ocs file with textures and light already set.. since this program you showed us is really nice, but realy nothing much to look at.. we want some realistic (or closer to it) looking 3d software

Maybe when Radiance gets all the basics sorted out in Octane, he can tackle this.
