Is it possible to replace material tiling with transparency/alpha? Instead of the wrap/black/mirror options?

I'm trying to get a material that is smaller than the base object to have alpha where the repeating image tiling would be usually. I found the options in the octane image texture node to change to wraparound black white clamp or mirror. I was wondering if there was a way to have the rest of the material be transparent?
I was using DEM EARTH and trying to do a zoom between different resolutions.
