Hello

I would like to request a feature that would allow the user to set up the kernel default values,
as most of the time users have to jump between directlighting and pathtracing, and everytime there is the need to change the caustic blur value, and diffuse depth to a decent level, the current defaults are not suitable to work with.
It would be wonderfull to be able to set up a user default values for all the Kernel options.

Kind regards
Filipe

Maybe I am not understanding your request fully - some kind of presets would be nice to switch between. But doesn't the use of separate render and or kernel nodes fulfill that function? If you need to switch between different kernels or between different settings in the same kernel, just drag out additional nodes and hook into them when needed.

You could use the Local DB to create any presets you want.

Hi Filipe,
another option is to prepare some Render Targets with desired settings and save them in the default scene.
In this way, you have your Render Targets always ready to be used in any new scene.

I don't know how you guys work, but I am allways changing between direct lighting for navigation, and pathtracing to see the light correctly.
It is this step that prompted me for this request, as each time I put on pathtracing I have to change the caustic blur, and the diffuse depth, I know I can use nodes to bypass this problem, but that will just add another ton of nodes into our projects...

it is like the default daylight environment, I can understand that is in New Zealand, as it is the home of Octane, but it would be grat to be able to set the default to another place.

Kind regards
Filipe
