Hi I was just wondering what the prospect is of seeing v3.1 within a couple of months?

No ETA yet, but the timeframe you mentioned is in line with our expectations.

Would really appreciate some news on the 3.1 update ETA. So many of us have been waiting for this but can't find when we're getting it.

Please keep us in the loop...

Any news about OSL, point\curves rendering in coming release?
If to be honest, Octane in Houdini looks like alpha version with minimum functionality right now. Only for simple tests.
Besides, with longest development cycles.
I am a disappointed by that. I really expect to see native attribute implementation at least, but it seems it it will not be available earlier than next year.
I switched back to mantra render in production because Octane functionality grows very slow.

I hope to see in Octane some is these features soon, but anyway, can I ask what problems do you have to render points and curves with the current plugin? For example the plugin can render massive amount of particles from the Houdini points data using the Octane sphere primitive:

Thanks,

While these features would be AMAZING they're by no means a necessity to run a show through houdini-octane. I am currently running several commercials through it and the workflow is amazing just as is the support from both the core octane team and Juanjo. Id also like to lend my assistsnce in workflow to help you alleviate whatever issues you're having.
