Is it just me or has the display quality dramatically decreased during the last ( few?) updates? I see very bad aliasing along lines and elements like window frames !!!
Is it possible to move back to older versions?
I have 2 VR glasses which are currently used by one of my client for a large project, It was very hard to convince them to invest in this project, so I would look really bad now if the quality in vanishing!

attached please find a picture I made with the screenshot functionality of the Gear VR...

I cannot tell exactly when the problems started but I think it was already notable in the first 3.0 release...

I would really appreciate some feedback here, actually I am surprised that noone else is noticing this...

best

Hey Andreas,

What resolution of the cubemap you are currently using? also are you still using PNGs? if possible, could you share with me the full cubemap?

Hello jax,

The resolution should be the usual...
18432 x 1536 , and yes it is a png...
I did not change anything, and the scene looked really good before...
I will send you a link to the picture by pm...

By the way, what did you mean with "still png"...
Should I better use something else?

Hi Andreas,

Looks like bi-linear filtering was disabled on 16bit PNG. We are working on getting a patched build ready. In the mean while you could use 8bit PNGs to work around this issue.
Thanks again for bring this up to our attention.

Cheers,

J.
