Hello all,
I' running into a snag when using C4D to render out an animation.
I have a camera animation and an object animation. Essentially, the camera is following the animated object.
I'm using a VDB file to create clouds, and I am using a targeting camera with the Octane Camera tag assigned to.
When I start the render in picture viewer or even the render queue, I get an error and then stops.
I am trying to render out 6 seconds of animation, about 197 frames (think).
Do you guys know what;s going on?
I attached the log that exported after the render failed.
If you need any more info, I'll try to get it toyou. I'm just stumped at this point.

Your report has nothing useful! Do you mind to share error messages? From console window and octane log window...
Are you using c4d textures as layer/noise/etc..?

I had a feeling the log wouldn't be very useful.
The error message I get is "Error: Unknown" when rendering in the render queue, then the log I already supplied is what gets spit out.
Heres an image of my material set up. I'm using only Octane textures, as far as I am aware. Unless those phong tags are causing the problem? Perhaps?
I'm looking at finding a different log right now, but the one I gave already is the only one I know of.

So, I started from scratch with no textures on anything. I even left out the vdb file just to be able to test faster. Still getting a lock up.
As suspected, it isn't the phong or UV tags, since those are essential for things to look right, plus they are just reapplied if I delete them anyways, but it was all in the name of science! So I tried anyways.
How might I be able to bring up the console and export info that may be better for diagnosing this issue?
I have done a few animation with Octane in C4D in the past, and never ran into this issue before.

I figured out the problem.
For some reason, it wouldn't render out until I put an Octane object tag on the Octane Volume. Then I had to set it to see the vdb file.
Not sure if this is the usual way you have to make it work, but it seems a little redundant.
In any case, it is working now and rendering in C4D as normal. Strange, that I never had this issue in the past.

You don't need to use object tags. Use latest builds and read release notes. Some fixes and improvements come with builds and may solve issues. Each build is better than previous.

I imagine that in any normal situation that would be the case, but it wouldn't work until after I had tagged it. It rendered out just fine after that.
Maybe it was just a fluke or something.
