This should be relatively easy to implement...
Basically, in the Octane Material "texture" channels, the "C4dOctane" drop down list should only have to show the items that are usable. Or if you always want to show the full list, then maybe grey out the ones that are not usable.
For example...
If I am in the "Emission" parameter, only the things that pertain to emissions should show up on the emission's "C4dOctane" shaders "texture" dropdown menu. I think only 3 or 4 items on that whole list actually do anything.
This would help new users get up to speed and more quickly familiar with the abilities in each Octane Material shader parameter like, diffuse, roughness, bump, normal, transmission, etc. This also lends to a faster new and experienced user workflow overall.

If the item you choose adds nothing to the "texture" slot, could it be possible for Octane to identify that as a null result? I see that even the native menus behave in the say way so maybe it is not possible until maxon implements it.
