Hello,

At work I'm trying to sign out of my license so I can use it at home but I keep getting an error that another instance is active, but there isn't another instance. This is on mac. I'm attaching a screen grab.

Just a couple of things:

- First make sure signing out is what you want to do. Note that Octane licenses are now releases automatically when the standalone or the plugin host application exits.
- If this is what you want, make sure no other instances of Octane (including plugins) are currently running.

Best.

Interesting, so I don't have to sign out, Just close the apps and when I get home I should be able to work with no issue? I will have to sign out from here in a few weeks though because my work contract will be finished. What happens if I get home and try to launch the app and it says I can't because some instance of Octane is still running in another location? I'm just afraid this error in the image is some background process I can't find.

Exactly, that's how the new floating licenses work.

You don't need to sign out as licenses will be not in use as long as no instance of Octane is running. If for some reason a license is still in use on a machine you don't have access anymore, you may deactivate it using the "Unlock" button on the licenses web page.

Thanks for the help. I still can't find a reason for my machine saying that another instance is still running. I wish we could clear that up because something is off there.

Check task manager any software which is running Octane. Maybe some nonclosed pieces.

Thanks, tried that already, unless it's a process that doesn't have octane in it's name, there isn't anything listed.

So check task manager for existense of C4D. Be sure that's not still working in background. I see sometimes it cannot properly quit and stuck in background.
