Hello!
I have a question about using the imagetexture and alpha.
here is what I'm trying to do:
I want to put a drawn 2D character in the a 3D environment, using octane as my renderer and have the texture be effected by octane lights.
I know how to do projection in C4D and the alpha works, getting rid of the polygon I have it projected on. The only issue is that it isn't effected by the lights, which I want. I've attached a picture that utilizes the c4d projection mapping - how can I achieve this with octane so the lights effect the drawing?
I hope this is clear enough, let me know if I can give any more information.
Thanks!

Hi justinanixon,
not sure to have correctly understood the question...
Are you rendering with default DirectLight AO kernel?
Have you tried to switch to Direct Light Diffuse or Path Tracing?

Hey thanks for the response. I am actually rendering with diffuse. The problem I am having is not getting my texture image to respond to lighting.
I want to put a 2D character on a 3D object (or just a polygon) and have the the rest of the polygon disappear. When I do this with projecting mapping, everything works but the character isnt affected by the lights I have in the scene. Trying to figure out if it's something I can do with octane materials, but I can't seem to get the alpha to work when using octane materials.
I hope this helps!

Hi justinanixon,
please, look at this scene prepared by aoktar about imagetexture and alpha in Octane: You can download all the example scene files in any c4dOctane release post, here is the direct link:
