OK now we get error just after 500 samples (half way finished frame ). We never had this problem in windows 7. I read somewhere it can be windows 10 bug? All our cards are pascal

Hi coilbook,
Did you chek the "Minimize net traffic" option in setting Kernel?
Could you use the octane_log for more information on your issue?
To do this, you have to copy the file "octane_log_flags.txt" in 3dsmax main root
and "octane_daemon_log_flags.txt" into the Standalone directory on the slave computer.
remember to enable the permissions to write in 3dsmax folder etc..
e.g. select 3dsmax folder > Rightmouseclick > properties > security > ...
After placed the "octane_log_flags.txt" and "octane_daemon_log_flags.txt", restart and generate the issue.
Octane will create "octane_log.txt" files, with info about your issue.
Attach those file to better understand what happens.

i attached the log. We have 7 itoo forests in the scene. Main one has trees and the other 6 have grass, braches etc. When we hide 6 secondary forests it renders fine, when we hide main forest and render 6 secondary forests (grass, twigs etc) it renders fine. But when we have all 7 forests in the scene it does this cuda error even though we have plenty of gpu memory

well that's a bit different between the 3.x version and the 2.x version, if you using forest and you have many sample trees populated to scene, it will cost some problem, the main problem is the vram usage..i attached the log. We have 7 itoo forests in the scene. Main one has trees and the other 6 have grass, braches etc. When we hide 6 secondary forests it renders fine, when we hide main forest and render 6 secondary forests (grass, twigs etc) it renders fine. But when we have all 7 forests in the scene it does this cuda error even though we have plenty of gpu memory
I've recently creates a video showing the video ram usage comparing to different version

in this case, if u using 3.x version, some options will resulted in huge vram cost, you better watch and monitor the vram usage evertime you unhide a forest pack object, or trying to lower the value that the videos shows above,

i am only using 4gb of 8 available.
also when slave renders and I check GPUs with GPU-Z only top card shows 4gb of memory used and the other ones shows GPUs under load but only 50 mb of memory used,, I though scene must be loaded into each GPU

Hi,
I got a lot of crash when I was saving render from render viewport. Also When I export the scene I got crash and v3.03.4 - 4.20 saved orbx file almost 4gb instead of 600mb. ( I reload 3.02-3.17 and could export the scene ) I think Octane couldn't export octane proxy objects. I am using Win 10, 3d Max 2017.

Octane 3dsMax plugin had his proxy system;
Best results, you could use the octane proxy system,
as in other render engine, before you use a scattering system.
As you can see in the screenshots, the occupied memory in 3ds max and stanalone coincide.
