Hi!

There seems to the variation of this issue occurs. Time after time when I try to render my scene I get this message:
Image
Octane Server doesn't crash — it keeps running, but refuses to render. To fix it I need to shut down the Octane Server and relaunch it.

I can't really say which action(s) cause it — it happens several times per hour or once in a week...

Thank you!

Is Your problem fixed/gone after some updates or is it still popping out from time to time?

Hi there,

I'm experiencing a quite similar Problem. A couple of days ago I downloaded and tested the Blender Plugin and since I was really impressed, how easy it worked I purchased a license today.

I downloaded OctaneRenderer 3.04.4, OctaneServer 2.23.2 - 9.3 as well as the respective BlenderOctane Version 2.23.2 - 9.3.

The Standalone Version of Octane works properly - as far as I can tell. It seems to be properly connected to the OctaneLive Environment: In the bottom right I can read "OctaneLive: connected (green)".

I then Startup the OctaneServer and can see the Icon in the taskbar, so I assume it is also running as intended.

When I launch BlenderOctane afterwards, activate the plugin and switch the renderer to BlenderOctane I can see the fields in the inspector changing like I already knew it from the demo Version. However, there is no promt to enter the Server IP and credentials below the render settings as is written in the documentation. And whenever I trigger a render, it tells me the following:

|Not activated | Renderserver at address "127.0.0.1" is not activated.

So this is really frustrating, not being able to use the foftware that you just paid quite a few bugs for. Maybe there is something I'm missing, but any feedback/fix on this would be highly appreciated.

I reinstalled everything a couple of times, updated my graphics drivers, but unfortunately to no effect.

Win 10 Home 64 bit
i7 - 2630QM @ 2.00 GHZ
6GB RAM
Nvidia GTM550

I don't think it has anything to do with my hardware setup, because it was working properly with the demo Version. But just for the sake of completeness.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Martin

Blender versions you see in "Download" section of the site are quite old. And I see you've installed the 3.X version of standalone but an old 2.X version of Blender plugin.
The current version of Blender plugin is 3.04.3 - 11.11. Please find the download links in this forum section: viewforum.php?f=113

Ok figured it out myself.

The Input field for entering the Server Details is hiding at the very bottom of the render inspector. There is a small tab called Octane Server, that will happily accept your credentials.

Happy Rendering!

Martin
