Hey guys,

Does anybody have any good ideas on where I might find some free or cheap high-quality Octane car interior materials, like high-end plastics, leather, and bright work? I'm working in Cinema 4D if that's of any use.

I have not had much luck finding any. I really need a good leather bump map for the project I am working on now, but free images of leather (with vignetting, no less) are of zero use, and not easily tile-able. I have had to resort to a procedural solution for the time being, that is sort-of there, but not totally, due to not enough procedural textures to work with in Octane.

Once and a while, I'll find something useful on the internet for free, but not often. And even stuff you can buy can be pretty sad.

I am experimenting with Filter Forge 5 to make my own leather. Incidentally, if you or anyone else knows of a great procedural texture generator other than Filter Forge, please let me know.

i`m working on a few node setups for different materials, partly procedural, but 100% proc leather should definately be possible.
will let you know when they are finished!

That's looking really nice. I wish there was a function that could focus on longer creases in the leather. Seems like there is not much control over its scale in either Octane or Filter Forge. Still experimenting.

I've included a picture for reference. Is there a fairly simple way to reproduce the faux-leather dash material shown here, and the textured plastic by the vents up at the top?

That is great, I didn't even know that existed! Thanks for the link. That's probably a little too rich for my blood though, that's like heavy-duty industrial design firm stuff. :)
