I have a car whose headlight assembly is covered by a plastic lens. The lens is a solid object which has thickness and the chrome beneath is also made up from primitives and is therefore "solid"
I have a specular material on the plastic lens and a glossy material for the chrome.
I cannot see the reflections of the chrome from behind the plastic lens. turn off the lens object, relfections on the chrome, turn it back on? black.
This is in the blank default environment.
Octane render 3 on Win 64 and C4D 16.x
Any insight into this is appreciated.
Can't see chrome beneath plastic lens

Actually, I'm an idiot. I wasn't looking at the real render settings. I was looking at the C4D Octane globals, not the settings from the Octane Menu.
