Do I need to have new pascal to try octane VR ?

I saw a mark on a pascal cards that it is a VR ready

Hi MaaYaa,
don't worry, VR ready is just an Nvidia marketing strategy and refers to HMD support like Oculus Rift and so on.
OctaneVR can work with the same Nvidia GPUs type as OctaneRender Standalone.
The only difference is that you can have up to 2x GPUs and there is not network rendering.
