Is there a way to use Camera -> Object -> Focus Object to use for autofocus octane camera?
I have first tries with the demo and thinking about to buy Octane 2 + C4D Plugin.
I want to autofocus to a object or null object or so...

disable autofocus in tag and let the focus distance=0, then put your object as target in camera.

Hi !,
I'd like to animate the focal distance with a ref object. I've already rigged the camera up to use a null as the focus distance and if I render out a stills from any of the null (and Focus) moving then it works, but if I try and render out an animation then it just sticks and doesn't move. Although I can see a dialogue box saying focal depth "of camera object", in the exporter ... It doesn't actually work.
Cheers

It's not so difficult.

Hi aoktar,
Thanks for posting ... may be my mistake ... I am using Cinema and an Octane exporter to export to Octane version 1.55.
I've downloaded your file but I think that it's for Octane for Cinema ?
I can't get it to work ...
Can you tell me if it's possible ?
The exporter says "Focal Depth ...of camera object" and it works for still images, but when I want to animate it just sticks ...
Thanks

Hi aoktar, are you using cinema and the exporter or Octane inside Cinema?aoktar wrote:It's not so difficult.

Thanks
