I am thinking about getting titan x pascal as the main 3ds max viewport card. Currently i m using first get Titan that has high double precision. I heard new titans do not have this anymore. Will titan x pascal make my viewport faster or slower? Thank you
you can turn off the double precision of the first gen titan.coilbook wrote:I am thinking about getting titan x pascal as the main 3ds max viewport card. Thank you. I had no effect.
We did tests in 3ds max 2014
Old legacy Titan with 40 million polygons (spheres) around 8 FPS
New titan X pascal around 18-19 FPS twice more
max doesn't support double precision, that's a fact, it doesn't even have it implemented
you don't need it anyway, unless you're moving say a plan from OS to your local grid coords, but you'll need to do the move in a double precision 3d package (such as Rhino) or in a cad program itself before importing
