I am working on a project where there are trails being produced from an xp emitter. I want to shade the trails with a gradient hair texture, but after a few videos I found out you can not do that. So I created a glossy material with noise + colorizer to try to get the same effect. The only problem is that Octane is only rendering one color. Is there any way just to get a smooth ramp on the trail while it is being produced. I was expecting also based on the video that I watched that at least the would be a different solid color for each hair but it is not even doing that. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Attached is the effect I am trying to achieve.

Here you generate octane hairs and they don't support gradient across y_axis. You can use polygonal geometry if you really need this result. Will be expensive for geometry data.
