Hi all,
I recently noticed that the Octane 3 standalone and Cinema 4D licences had a "Unlocks Left*" tab on the licences page. Previously in version 2, I had been able to work on an Octane project at work, then work late at home on it, by deactivating the licence. I had continued to do this with version 3, unaware that the changes were counting down. I'm not sure what this was initially but now its sitting at 4 unlocks left.
I'm generally unsure of what the new rules are? Does it mean you are stuck to using one machine and therefore unable to work on a project from different locations?
The doc for V3 is below, but I find the wording somewhat vague.
https://docs.otoy.com/manuals/products/ ... et-access/
The V2 process is noted here, with reference to the 1 hour period of deactivation/reactivation etc.

I had a search for a topic similar to this, and most seemed to be about bugs in activating, but apologies if this has been asked before.

Hi Grum,
yes correct, v3 has completely changed the authentication method to satisfy the multiple requests from various users about the 1 hour delay and the need of long copy/pasting of id and pw.
Now the new system is completely different, no more time to wait or long pw/id to copy/paste. As soon as you close Octane Standalone or integrated plugin, the license is free up for another use. Check on your OctaneLive page the status of your license after quitting c4d.
The deactivate button is only for emergency, in case you are not able to connect to the active machine for any kind of reason.
Let me know if you need more info on this

Okay, I think what might have caused havoc is that I still had V2 on my home machine.
Even after closing this at home and shutting down the computer it still read as being active and wouldn't allow for V3 to run at work.
I've installed V3.02 now at home, and the work copy had deactivated itself, so that ran without issue.
However, I have closed the application at home and it still has "unlock" under the status in my licence page, which seems odd. Should that not update instantly?
I won't know whether that worked until I head back into the office.

Hi Grum,
if you see that the license is still active, please open Standalone or plugin, go to the account tab and sign-out from there.
The system has been modified in the latest version, so please, update both Standalone and plugin at v3.03.3 in all your machine.
