Hello everyone!
I'm currently rendering in MODO plug with a new video card (ZOTAC 980ti).
During the render with GPU-Z I saw that the GPU use is between 75 and 90%.

With Cinema plug-in the GPU use is always between 99% and 100% and also with the benchmark the use is always in 99-100% range.

I'm currently running with the MODO plug 3.2.111 and this is the paste of the octane
Started logging on 25.08.16 11:17:09

OctaneRender 3.03.2 (3030002)

I attach also a screen of GPU-Z
GPU-use.PNG
and as you can see the use is not constant.
I don't know if this is a problem, a kind of bug or what else, I really hope that you can explain me what is this.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

The C4D and Modo plugins use exactly the same Octane API. So you potentially have different render priorities set between the 2 plugins, or Modo is using the graphics card for it's own OpenGL processing.

Hi Paul,
thank you for your answer.

I tried to change the visualization to wireframe but nothing changed.

The 980 Ti is not the visualization card, my monitor is connected at a GTX 570 that is not involved in the render.
Maybe there is something else that I can try to change to use the full power of the card?
Could you suggest which parameter to check to be sure that everything is alright?

Thank you very much!
Giuseppe

Octane never uses more than 85% of power, my 780 6GB use about 69%, Titan OC heavily on water no more than 85%. That is why true power draw by Octane is much lower than in games. Don't worry about it so. Look at % usage though - shall be around 99%.

Cheers,

S.

Thank you Smicha,
actually the point is that using the Octane Bench the "GPU Load" value is fix between 99 and 100 and the same happen with Cinema plug... I can't understand why this is happening...

thank you

GPU load is GPU usage, and is not the same as GPU power. If you don't have priority set to low usage shall be around 99%, not power.

Yes, exactly I meant GPU Load, sorry for misunderstanding.

Thanks

Make sure you don't have priority turned on.

Can you install MSI Afterburner and look at gpu usage?
