Support for Digital Assets in VOPs

Hi.

I just wanted to ask if there are plans to support DAs in VOPs anytime soon.

Inspired by the sneak peak of an upcoming Uber Shader for Houdini / Octane (viewtopic.php?f=101&t=55424) I wanted to try and make my own simple version.

I tried to use Subnets and netboxes to keep things clean, but either I'm doing something wrong or they are pretty clumsy unless you have everything planned out from the very beginning.

The Octane VOPs digital assets should work without problems. The plugin even includes some of them with the simple materials. Have you checked the docs related to this topic?

Hi Juanjo,

I meant at VOP level. In the Subnet section of the help it says "Currently the Octane plugin doesn’t support Digital Assets at VOP level."

I would like to have one node in VOPs (a Subnet made DA) with all the right inputs exposed.

Ah sorry, yes, you are right. Currently the plugin doesn't support HDAs at VOP level. Let me check if this feature is possible, to add it in a future release.

I'd appreciate it if you let me know what you find. If it turns out it's impossible, or it's going to take a long long time to implement I will bite the bullet and make my shader without it, but if it turns out to be an easy fix I will wait for it.
