Hi all
Is there somewhere I can download the mesh that is in Octane Render Standalone for setting up materials?

It can be found in 3D-Coat directories, C:\Program Files\3D-Coat-V4.7.07\ToolsPresets\preview\preview.obj (scale to 0.1% in LW to fit LW scale).
If someone can confirm that it is allowed to be distributed I will be more than happy to post it here if you don't have access to 3D-Coat but until then, all I can do is give that path, sorry
I also tried to find it in the internet but no luck.

I was talking about the Octane one, but this is perfect too, thankyou

Oh you have 3DC too, greatgamedesign wrote:I was talking about the Octane one, but this is perfect too, thankyou

Yes I know you meant the Octane test object but that is the same model, just from different source

BTW, you can even use the 3DC preset environment HDRs in Octane, they are under the 3DC program folder (not in documents) in Temp/panoramas_ggx2 (at least with GL version).
They are in .dds format but you can convert them to EXR or HDR free online at
http://image.online-convert.com/convert-hdr-exr
You can't use the custom lights from 3DC but it's nice to have the environment maps same as in 3DC.
You also can't blur them in Octane but I was given great tip here that you can make blurred version of them and save them inside LW, see here viewtopic.php?f=36&t=55648&p=285366#p285294
And of course you can use any EXR/HDR in 3DC that you use in Octane as well so you can get same environment that way too

Even though I'm still in the process of making the materials look as close to 3DC in Octane as possible having same environment helps to design the materials. It is especially great with HDR Light Studio but even without that it helps.
