So this leaves only 0.96.7, or 967, versions until we get to 3.1, right?

OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.03.3
Yes we are in contact with them. JimStar should hopefully get some time this week to look at this issuecoilbook wrote:I posted bug on max forum jsut in case it is octane related. Phoenix VDB is not updating during rendering and it is stationary. viewtopic.php?f=81&t=55782
when Phoenix 2.25 will be finally supported ?
UPDATE: Looks like it happens when you use PhoenixFD 2.20 liquid box for simulations inside Phoenix 2.25. When will 2.25 will be supported. It has FLIP solver for liquids which is way better than 2.20. Chaos told us in forum that they are working with Otoy to get Phoenix 2.25 working.
Curious about the Modules? What are the intended modules? Can users design add-ons for the standalone in the form of modules and how will they interface with the current system?

BUG
We use OCtane 3ds max but I think it is related more to octane bug
If we use Sun with Scatter Medium and add Phoenix FD smoke the actual Phoenix FD sim box also leaves shadow. Please help

Yes this seems to be a bug in Octane, we will fix this.coilbook wrote:BUG

Ok, just to be clear, 2.20 is the current stable version of PhoenixFD - we can't support 2.25 until it is released as stable by ChaosGroup - we really can't release a new OctaneSDK for every nightly build of 2.25 (it is also very different from 2.20) - apologies for any inconveniencehaze wrote:Yes we are in contact with them. Hi haze DO you know when will this fix come out. We got tons of renderings to do. Thank youhaze wrote:Yes this seems to be a bug in Octane, we will fix this.coilbook wrote:BUG

is there any way just to do support for just ONE of the latest nightly builts and that's all. Just to get Octane to render smoke and fire with 2.25, Octane renders water fine with it. I think they had 2.25 version for almost two years now and still will not release it to public. They main difference between 2.20 and 2.25 is that water uses FLIP solver and smoke and fire have separate sim box from liquids sim box. Hopefully one day it can be done.
Problem is 2.25 simulates liquids about 30 times faster with new FLIP solver and fire 10 times
And one more thing. You can use Phoenix FD 2.20 Sim Boxes inside 2.25 just fine. And octane renders them also fine. Except it does not update VDB animation during renderings and smoke is stationary (only octane viewport updates when time slider is moved). If we could at least get this fixed then it would be great! Then we can use new FLIP solver for liquids and use old Phoenix FD 2.20 sim boxes with 2.25 version for smoke just fine.
It's just been fixed internally. I'm not sure when the next standalone release will be. I don't expect it to be longer than a week from now.coilbook wrote:Hi haze DO you know when will this fix come out. We got tons of renderings to do.
