Hi
Houdini novice creating a test render scene and going through Rohan Dalvi's tutorials. Many questions but my first is lights in Octane.
What is the default distant or spotlight you see when doing a render (without any actual lights setup)? How to edit or remove?
Does Octane require you to create all your lights using the Emission material?

Hi eco_bach and welcome,
Here ara a couple of links about artificial lighting in Octane:

In generals, integrated plugins can have some advantages, but share the same features of Standalone version.
