Projecting Image with a light (Slide Projector)

I found this thread that is doing exactly what I need but when following the steps I am not getting anywhere close to the same results. Has anyone gotten this to work in Cinema? I have scaled the light and experimented. I got the light to cast the image at one point but I couldn't get a sharp image.

Is there a way to sharpen the projected image? When I move the light around it looks sharp in the Live Viewer, but when I stop to let it render it gets blurry.

I have tried to reproduce your issue without success, could you share with us a simple file that shows the problem, please?
