It is hard not to be intimidated by the shots up here so far. You all rock it. I am hoping to have my submission up here later this weekend if I can get blender to stop crash when testing a render, and then octane to stop crashing on import. I know it has a lot to do with my mesh, so I haven't written any bug reports. Anyway, I am excited about all of this. It is amazing what people have created with a very limited amount of options. Really speaks to the power of Octane.
System 1: EVGA gtx470 1280Mb and MSI gtx470 1280 in Cubix Xpander for Octane, AMD 945, 4Gb Ram
All systems are at stock speeds and settings.

Updated using Octane8000 which seems a little more stable when I adjust materials and allowed me to get a nickel finish on the Desert Eagle. Also change to a different camera response "Porta 160NCCD." Not completely happy with the gold plated parts but its a start.

A different angle with DOF.

Hi, here is my render for competition.

Demo Octane:
The area in dark glass was caused for something like caustics... i think.
With my card don't have much more to do.

Ps.: I obtained this render in 3 hours, in another renderer it took 24.5 hours to make this same quality.

Nice picture Ankh.pd
Here's what I found a little bit strange...
The liquid look like olive oil  try something looking more like tea, or put hot water and add some smoke due to the heat.
The HDRI you are using with those area-like lights is kinda messy, you dont get perfect reflections, its splotchy.
You get also strange things happening in the teapot handle reflections, maybe try a blurred material instead for the handle.
Also maybe you can try a brushed metal teapot  that would be cool

Good picture :)

Thanx Sam, ;)

I'm going rebuild the scene.
Is there a way to solve the problem with the cup (firefly)?
Once again, thanks man.

Well since I can't do the competition yet with my 8600M GT (because its... so... slow :|)
I like to make critics

The fireflies are because of the MLT not implemented yet, its not a bug (fireflies are bugs I think )

Good luck !

Man there is some extremely nice posts so far. FrankH if you didn't tell me that was a 3D render I would think that they were real souvenirs. Did you use texture maps for the gold parts or was that all assigned using the Octane materials?

Ankh.pd if you just added a touch of a green cast to the liquid it would look like green tea. Love the reflections.
