Hi there
I was just wondering, will there be a feature to cache the scene's lighting in a future release?
So you can either come back to a render and add more samples to it or for using to speed up animated scenes where the camera moves but objects don't.

just wondering if this is already being talked about?
A feature to add more samples to the available renders is available in Standalone, and I am thinking about how to support it in the plugins, but sorry, no lights cache feature is in the roadmap. Octane is an unbiased render engine, and it doesn't support this kind of features available in other biased engines.
Thanks,

I remember in fryrender i think it saved point cloud data of the lighting which you could reuse.
Is it not possible for Octane to do the same? If it did would't it be able keep adding to that point cloud as the camera moves round? Or am I talking nonsense haha
