I've been running into this bug today. I have a 1000 frames animation of bat wings I need to comp onto a girl in a live action shot.
The bug: when I scroll around the frames, the Preview can't update the geometry at the correct position. BUT it works fine when I first load Softimage AND the scene. I hit preview, scroll around, everything updates fine. I close the Preview. Open it again. Scroll around and the geometry doesn't update anymore. Even rendering a frame won't work properly.
And it does the same bug with and without the geometry being plotted.

Try this dll and copy it over the existing one.
It´s a little bit slower in mesh checking because all point positions will be checked.
