when i use 3ds max / octane - the plugin end standalone automatic deactivates on exit.
when i close sketchup, the plugin doesn't automatic deactivate, nor does the standalone - so why don't we have a unlimited numbers of deactivations?
or fix the automatic deactivation....

why limited unlocks when the system dosen't work?
Hi,
OctaneRender V3.02 and higher include improvements to license management, however these changes may cause issues when you are running a V3.02+ Standalone/Plugin instance at the same time as an earlier version. Also, as we are continuing to improve license management, it is highly recommended to update to the latest release of Standalone and the Plugins if you encounter any issues with licensing.

To implement the floating licensing system we need to keep track of all Octane processes that use a specific license on the computer. This way we only release/deactivate a license when no Octane process is using that license anymore. Originally we used a third-party library for that. Unfortunately there were various issues with that and caused crashes during startup in various circumstances. To fix the problem we changed it to an internal (file based) system in version 3.02. Unfortunately this separates the license usage tracking of version 3.02 and higher from the usage tracking of 3.00, 3.01 and 3.01.1.
-> Please make sure that you only run either version 3.00, 3.01 and 3.01.1 at the same time or only version 3.02 or higher.
We will make the detection of a deactivated license more gracefully with the next release. Apologies for the inconvenience until then.

Hi
There are a couple of cases in which your license may not be released:
There are a couple of cases in which your license may not be released:
- If your internet connection is unstable or,
- If there's another instance of standalone/plugin running at the same time. This is likely causing your issue, make sure that there's no other instance of SketchUp hanging using the task manager. If this would happen, then it's holding the license from being released.
