i'm look at some photoshop toturials where they use the reflection channel for createing some reflection of trees on the ground, but i can't figure out how to get this channel exported from 3ds max (or sketchup) - can it be true that this is not possible? or am i'm doing something wrong?
i just tried the standalone, and it seems that it's possible with the standalones "reflection filter".
thanks

hi ttaberna
thank for taking your time.
i was looking in kernel > info channel > dropdown - and here the selection is quite limited, but your post made me look in the "render elements" tab, and there is a lot more options.
thanks

I've found a way to do it.
Not far from useless because samples pass are limited to 1024 (still asking myself why ... seems that developpers still not want octane to be production ready)
Anyway you must define all your scene as octane layer ID 1.
You must define the geometry that receive the reflection as octane layer ID 2.
You render layer ID 1 and ask for layer pass reflexion, you'll get the reflexion of the layer ID 2.
