I am using the demo version, and it appears to only accept .obj files.
I use Chief Architect to design buildings, and need to render/raytrace interior & exterior scenes. This program exports some file types; VRML, 3DS, 3D dwg & dxf, & Pov-Ray. However, obj is not one of them.
Does the full version accept any additional file types? Are there future plans to do so?
Thanks,

Hi,
Octane currently supports OBJ, either by manualling loading, or through the plugins for varisou 3d animation packages.
If you're application does not support OBJ, you might want to find some application that can convert your model between your format and OBJ.
We are working on adding a collada mesh support too, and that will be released in beta3. (the release after the next one)

You can always use blender as an intermediary solution to get your model into obj format. It's free and pretty easy. Use version 2.49b versus the newest one as the plugin for octane isn't finished for the newest version.
