So I randomly stumble on to this great tutorial online about integration of Octane and X-Particles...

and now hours later I am scratching my head and very confused.
I am using Octane 3.0 and X-Particles 3 within Cinema4D R16. I already know that there is no 'Enable Particle Engine' in the Live Viewer dropdown menu and that you need to put an Octane object tag on to the XP particle emitters. My problem is I can't get a texture on the emitter to show up in the Live Viewer. I have looked around on the forum and found some solutions but nothing that really fits my problem or fixes it. I tried creating xpGenerator and then putting a actual sphere object as a child and sometimes I can see the texture in the LV and sometimes not. My problem seems to be more 'bug' related or something, it all feels a little glitchy. Texture showing up for a sec in the LV, then sometimes only on some of the balls and sometimes not on any of the balls.
Can someone give me a 'matter of fact' way of setting up XP emitters with Octane object tags and materials? What is the one right way of setting this up?

What do you mean with texture?chanson78 wrote:My problem is I can't get a texture on the emitter to show up in the Live Viewer.

two ways
1-generate particle geometry with usual way. Simply produces a normal geometry for renderer. to put a object under xpemittier and this is slower way.
2-using the plugin's particle engine. Add object tag to xpemtter, select "Sphere" in particle engine. Putting some objects.
3-Checking sample scene pls

As it's seen on first image. To objects....chanson78 wrote:Thanks for your quick response!
and where does the Octane material tag go? On the sphere, cone, etc?
