Love the implementation of ORC but I noticed the renders not going that fast. Not to bad overall for early implementation though. However I've set of three animation so far and all of them are rendering out with object visibility of the lights turned on even though there are set to off? Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug that is getting fixed?

Thanks,

Dean

Hi Dean,

Glad you like the implementation :)
You submitted jobs with pretty decent render quality config, that explains the speed.
ORC is designed to allocate resources for many frames to to be rendered simultaneously instead of allocating all resources on one frame. That approach gives you more interactive feedback about your animation job as a whole.

What version of Octane was used to create these scenes? We're not doing anything fancy with the visibility..

Best,
Vladimir

Hey Vladimir,

I'm using 3.01.1-R2. Maybe it's a bug? As the area lights are pretty straight forward on my end also?

Could you post a picture of desired result vs what you got from ORC?

Its rendering out both the area light rectangle and the area sphere light as visible. Not sure why. On our machines at the studio they are fine.

Also Otoy has stopped my render as they say I have run out of credits. Yet I can't find where to purchase them?

Thanks

Credits are not for purchase at the moment. You had free demo credits as a part of the private beta testing and you've used up all of them, that's why your jobs were stopped.

As for the visibility, I'll be investigating this early next week.
